Chimborazo is Ecuador´s highest peak. For many years was considered the highest mountain in the world until the discovery of the Himalayas.
Also, due to its 6310 m / 20,700 ft. of elevation and in addition earth´s equatorial bulge, Chimborazo still holds the title of the highest mountain of the world measured from the center of the earth.

STRENUOUS
Refers to the longest mountain routes and physically more demanding but not necessarily the most technical. The total number of hiking hours exceeds nine and can reach up to twelve between climbing to the summit and returning to the mountain hut or camp. It is also necessary use ropes, crampons, ice axes, ice screws, etc.
Duration: 2 or 3 days
Access: Drive in and drive out with 3 hours hike to camp
Pre-requisites: Previous mountaineering experience
Accommodation: Camping (5.020 m / 14,465 ft.)
Extension: Optional 1 spare day weather

You will need a sleeping bag for the huts (there are mattresses), and additional camping supplies if you will climb Antisana, Sangay or Altar (equipment is often included in our prices, but please double check).
